Harnessing the power of the Thames to fund community-based sustainable initiatives in Marlow and Bisham
Unlocking the power of the Thames
Our goal is to generate clean hydropower, capitalising on the natural resource of the Thames, converting potential energy to electric energy.
1: GENERATING CLEAN ENERGY
We plan to sell the electricity to a single commercial user and the National Grid in order to maximise the funds we can generate.
2: SELLING THE ELECTRICITY
Any surplus funds generated will be reinvested back into the community, funding further sustainable initiatives in Marlow & Bisham.
3: REINVESTING FUNDS IN THE COMMUNITY
The scheme will further enhance the town's sustainability credentials & will provide an inspiring educational case study for local students.
4: EDUCATION & INVOLVING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Bridge Hydro is a not for profit, community based project that aims to generate funds from the sale of hydropower electricity, generated by harnessing the power of the Thames at Marlow.
Unlike previously proposed schemes, we plan to utilise advanced and unobtrusive technology with minimal impact to the landscape. The scheme aims to create a 'Sustainable Initiatives Community Fund' which will be available to support further community-based initiatives in Marlow and Bisham.
